x-pro x7 125 seat swap
Greetings, I have recently taken delivery of an X-Pro X7 125 grom clone. It was manufactured in May of 22. While I really like the bike, I just can't put up with the seat...It forces you to almost sit on the tank because of the slope built into the seat. I've started looking for a seat replacement that is "flat", not sloped. I've found several that fit the grom but I'm at a loss as to what would be the correct model year of grom to look for. Would like it to be plug and play but either way, this seat has to go....Has anyone here swapped the seat on an X7? Your input would certainly be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer.

I bought an Amazon seat for 130 or 140 , direct fit. They might be 140 or 150 by now but there are seats available.
I plan on reshaping and recovering my stock seat one day.

What year is your X7 and what year fit your bike? I'm seeing some listings that are 21-22 grom year specific....my x7 was mfg in 22 but I'm wondering if it still has the older frame/seat design or if they have updated it and the newer grom seat would fit. Thanks for your reply. |

So when you ordered the seat did you order one for a 20 grom or an older year?

x7 seat replaced
Thanks for your input. Based on that I ordered a seat off of Amazon for a '20 Grom. It was $135ish....and flat. Although it leaves a bit to be desired in the comfort category, it has solved the issue of being forced to sit on the gas tank. Overall, it was an excellent trade off. I can now move around on the seat and have room for my legs. Seatconcepts.com has a "Comfort" seat that will solve the comfort issue. It is expensive but I have one of their "Comfort" seats on my CRF300 Rally and it was money very well spent. Their seats are made to order so no returns and not knowing exactly what was going to fit was a gamble that I wasn't comfortable with. Had I ordered for a 22 Grom it would not have fit.... as the 22 has a separate listing so there must be something a bit different on the 22... Thanks again.
