Spark plug ???

My 2021 TBR7 has the stock spark plug, and I don't know if the E3, and Iridium plugs really do offer any advantage over a good conventional plug, in a bike like mine. What are your thoughts on the matter?

If by stock you mean a Chinese plug, by all means switch to an NGK. Some version of the D8 IIRC. If your stock plug is an NGK, You're good. My Lifan KPX comes with the NGK CPR8EA.

If that plug is Chinese, I am pretty sure anything else will be a radical improvement. I put an NGK in my Dong Feng 250RTG and it was like adding a supercharger ...

NOTHING electrical is worth a hoot on these bikes. Standard procedure with them -- immediately replace battery, all light bulbs, and spark plug.

I would say that depends on the brand. A bike that comes standard with an NGK probably indicates greater attention to detail than one that comes with a Chinese plug. Lots of people are riding Chinese bikes with no problems, from day one.

So, An Iridium, or E3 plug is not going to perform better than a cheap ordinary NGK D8EA is ?

An iridium ngk plug offers the advantage of lasting longer than the bike.

And the one after that too...

Arguing the cost difference on spark plugs with a 1 cylinder engine is comical to begin with. There are other advantages to the iridium plugs as well. I just felt like making a humorous remark based in a realistic element.

My plug just had the number and letters on it with no name brand, so I assume it was Chinese, but it must have been functioning properly, because I bought a conventional type NGK today, and it run well, but no different.

Oh, I agree 100%. People always seem to react as if I am attacking these bikes when I state some truths that are obvious -- like their cheapest-of-the-cheap electricals, fasteners, etc., etc., etc. Their impression, I guess, is that I am putting the China bike down.

But, not so! China bikes are the best in the world -- for what they are. And what they are is, first and foremost, cheap. They can get you on wheels when you can't afford anything better, and if you have a bit of spare change along the way you can improve them as you go along.

Just don't expect HonYaSaki quality, 'cause it ain't there ...
