Boom Vader/Grom interchange
Hello. As I wait for my Vader to arrive I am putting together some "minimum" upgrade parts. So far I have. 17t sprocket and new chain, new battery and tender, and about to order a new rear shock. I have read up on certain bolts to upgrade like engine mount and shock mount. What I am wondering about is which years of Grom interchange with 2022 Vader as far as fairing bolts, front shocks, wheel bearings, brake pads and I am sure many other things(?) Not to be fussy but ebay links expire, so Amazon or Partzilla etc would be great if possible.

The wheels are bearings will fit. The fairings for the SF fit.
I would recommend riding the bike stock first until you need to upgrade. You will get much more enjoyment and riding time out of these

Thanks for the info. I haven't switched anything out yet, i did discover there is a rollover valve in the tank vent line that is not attached to anything so I removed that to prevent the fuel lock problem I have read about. I did order new grom axles which I will put in, and I wont be doing the rear shock because the bike came with an adjustable rear shock, which was a surprise.

Yes, definitely ride the bike stock, and decide if you actually need to do the suspension upgrades. The fork will be fairly expensive. Most bikes will come with a preload adjustable shock. I will say that I'm glad that you didn't order the shock you had posted. It's definitely not an upgrade. If you do decide you want something with preload, and compression/ rebound adjustment, nearly any DNM motorcycle shock would be better.
Fairing bolts are fairly universal. A universal kit will suit your needs for the most part. Unless people have been having problems with their batteries, you don't need the AGM battery. They're usually just as heavy, or heavier than the lead acid batteries that come with the bike. Are the bushings for the swingarm? If there's an actual bearing upgrade, I would look into that, but if bushings are all that can fit in there, they should be better than what come with the bike. |

You need the battery tray from the Grom in order for the tail pieces to work

Thanks. I have the bike strung up and ready for some work. Still figuring out how to add pics. I will check the swing arm when I do the rear shock bolts. |

Ok. Some pics as I get ready to do the recommended safety stuff. The last pic is where I found the rollover valve just sitting loose in the tank vent line exactly half way along the hose to the evap cannister. This is the cause of any vaporlock issues from what I can tell.

Changed the fork oil today, 225 ml of 20 weight(I drained the fork in to an auto paint mixing cup to get the amount)The difference is quite noticeable. The old stuff looks like vegetable oil, thinner even if that is possible. Discovered if you pour the oil down the central fork tube you really dont have to pump the fork to get it filled. |

Lots of little things done today. Short story, she fired right up and I got her around the block. Now for new oil, a little soldering and fine tuning, get her titled and registered, and hit the road!

Are these M8 bolts the ones you drill out the frame holes to a larger size? If so, what size and are both bolts 120mm long? Signed, Loving My Boom Vader 125
