Take it for a nice long ride. See what happens when you return. It's possible something got on the pads. It might burn off after a while.

Good to know about not having to bleed, that's the part that makes me nervous. Which cap would you be referring to? I changed the brakes in my car one time and swore I would never touch them again, hence my reluctance to touch these, but I didn't buy a china bike to pay someone else to work on it. |
