It depends on where you're located. There are tons of Hondoids out there but some states won't allow many of them to be plated for the street. I'm in CA and the only options are CSC and the SSR XF250. Getting CARB Approval for the street is full of red tape and expensive so most importers take a pass.

I just picked up a Lifan X-pect 200. Legal everywhere but CA as stated. Been assembling and tinkering with it the last couple days and I'm very impressed with the overall quality. Seems well built and people seem to love them. First impression after sitting on it is I'm glad it's not any bigger than it is. I'm just over 5'10" and I can flat foot on it but not if it were any taller. Good luck!

There's the usual Hawk 250/ dlx 250 also. Or, the old reliable (but not quite good looking) magician.

How tall is your daughter? I'm 5'11" and have a 29" inseam. I can flat foot a Magician, and with boots on I can almost flat foot my Bashan Storm. The CSC bikes come with a real dealer for backup, but if you are good mechanically I'd go with the putting it together yourself route. The Magician is 32", and the Storm is 34" seat height. Some of the bikes are hard to get licensed, depending on your location.

California? You might as well just start looking at electric bikes. The Chinese make them too.

In California I think you're kinda limited to the CSC bikes or the Hawk DLX for Chinese gas bikes.

California? Ya gotta watch the sites that advertise "CARB Approved". Many times that's strictly green or red sticker for the dirt....NOT plate-able for the street.

I like the CSC bike but just wanted to look at more options. Not too many small dual sports for sale. Didn't want to spend a ton of money on a bike for my daughter, not sure how much longer she'll want to ride with her Dad.

If you get her something that gives her trouble she might quit riding.

Does she even want to ride?
