Installation of additional tanks for gasoline.
For long journeys to wild places far from civilization. There is a need for a supply of fuel and water. It was decided to install two tanks: one for fuel, the other for water. In the initial version, a bracket was made for attaching tanks to the rear, on the sides of the upper wardrobe trunk. This option turned out to be a failure. The center of gravity went up and the front axle of the motorcycle was unloaded, this had a very negative effect on off-road handling.
In the final version, he moved the tanks outward to the protective arches, and secured the luggage at the back. The front and rear axle loads are now evenly loaded. The handling has become good. First option. |

I'm guessing that you moved the auxiliary tanks to the front to improve the front to rear weight distribution; having them fastened to the underside of the top case mount would definitely not be good for handling, especially when full of fuel or water.

Working_ZS you are absolutely right. Now there are tanks in front, and cargo in the back. The result is excellent weight distribution and controllability.

Also, removing weight from the rear lowers the stress on the subframe, if your bike has one instead of a full length one-piece frame. All that bouncing offroad will cause excessive stress, especially with the weight that far back.

Yikes, I would not want a fuel tank sticking out like that without some protection.
I would have tried to tuck them in above the passenger pegs, just in front of the cases, that would distribute the weight better (IMO), and protect the cans from damage. Of course if you're carrying a passenger, that wouldn't work. |

Oh well, I guess I'll be the first to ask it: isn't one of those tanks supposed to be white?
