Honda clone engine

There are horizontal engines on the market that are labeled as "fully automatic"

So what is inside? is it just a centrifugal clutch with a single speed or or a clutch & CVT?

Good question.
Some Chinese go carts have a 110 Honda Cub clone engines with a fully auto tranny.

I'm not 100% sure how the 'fully automatic' engines work, it could be more like the semi auto engines that you move the shift lever with your foot, or they could have another mechanism that shifts the transmission.

The semi-auto Honda engines use a centrifugal clutch, it is quite possible that it uses that.

I've never seen a Honda version of the 'automatic' engine, so the Chinese could have innovated and created a new design, though I doubt that it's a CVT on the inside, as it would be inside an oil bath.

Would like to get another, but they are hard to find.

Regarding the clone engines, I think now they are just single speed

They're centrifugal clutch, single speed.

There was one in the kids ATV (72CC), it was like a 2nd gear on a motorcycle...the torque from the centrifugal clutch got it moving...then it could accelerate to about 15-20 mph. It was pretty worthless trying to get going on a hill, but at least your kid's not going so fast to get hurt.
