Pz30 Carb Repair Kit

So far the biggest dissatisfaction I’ve had with my new Brozz 250 is not being able to get it running quite right. I’m not completely ignorant of working on small engine carburetors either but have had frustration trying to find a proper sized tool to fit the mixture screw etc. I’ve read around and see many just swap the carb and others say this one is fine and tunable but wanted an alternate option then cutting the mixture screw and adding washers etc.

After looking around I found a pz30 repair kit on eBay from JetsPlus from the Uk and it just arrived. It’s basically a rebuild kit but looks to include better quality components with better sized jets (for my elevation) and also screws with proper fittings and adjustable needle etc. I still have to pull the carb back off the bike and pull it apart and validate everything matches up but right now I’m hopeful that the $15 brings this carb to the way it should have been.

It took me a long while to get my Minkuni dialed in right on my TBR7.

This is what I settled on at sea level and the amazon exhaust.

I settled on a 110 main, 30 pilot, and 1.5 turns out on the fuel air mixture screw. Take pics of the spring on the choke before you transfer it to the new carb so you know how it goes correctly.

Thanks I’ll keep that in mind if I can’t get the pz30 working I’ll go with the Mikuni. I put the 112 main jet and 35 cold jet and new adjustable needle in the middle setting and it seems ok but I haven’t tried riding it yet with the changes. The new needle does have a different taper that I think would make it slightly richer at 1/4 throttle but so far seems ok.

I believe the PZ30 takes different pilot jets. If memory serves me correct, I believe you may want a 40 pilot in the PZ30 carb. It is a 30 in the Minkuni. But they are entirely different pilot jets types. The mains are the same types though between them.
