Question Starter Will Not Disengage

So I’ve been lurking this forum for a few months now, haven’t seen anything close to this yet so I guess it’s time to call in a favor! When I got to start my Hawk 250 (2020) the starter either won’t turn and I’ll hear the relay clicking over and over, or it will and it’ll start but won’t disengage the starting gear. It happens when I kick start the bike as well. When kick starting I can even hear the regular starter turning over.
I took apart the starter gear housing to see if anything was wrong but everything seemed in order. When this first happened I thought the relay had gone out so I said screw it and replaced the starter as well. Turns out neither of those were wrong but, oh well I upgraded anyway.
Has any one had experience with this? The gear seems to not want to disengage once it’s started or at all.
