Needed: airbox oil problem solution

Hello everyone,

During the breakin period I noticed the air box would get oil, figured from crank/pcv breather line. To prevent overflow I periodically open the air box drain into my recycle catch pan. Is there an easy fix to prevent the oil from collecting in the air box?

Thx!!!

The easiest fix is to put a check valve/pcv valve in the line. It won't stop all of it, but it helps.

Disconnect it from the airbox, attach a paper filter. Alternatively, many racers who use the cg engine mold a tube that passes through a filter to control excess then discharges directly onto the chain. Very little oil escapes the engine unless connected to an airbox. Cg engines have no need for vacuum crankcase vents unless you're passing smog.

I haven't found any oil in my airbox yet. Strange that some do and some dont. Maybe oil level has something to do with it?

Yep, when overfilled it pukes out of the breather into the airbox.
