Tao 110cc Dirt bike

Ok so my son was riding his 110cc tao dirt bike yesterday and it was running great, he got finished and rinsed it off with the hose while i ran inside for a minute, well came back out, started it and it ran horrible making a weird metal fluttering sound from the tail pipe, i let it sit for the rest of the day thinking maybe he got the air filter wet and would dry out. well started it today and still the same thing bike has a hard time staying running and is making that weird sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Make sure the exhaust is bolted on tightly, the heat shield can rattle as well if not

checked bolts everything was tight not sure that would cause the bike to run bad though. Appreciate the thought!

The exhaust ended up having a pebble inside of it, how it got there I don't have a clue. Thanks for the suggestions!
