Just throwing this out there
So I've recently been able to buy both a cheap foam filter and a oh so famous UNI foam filter. The cheap one was wingsmoto or something like that from Amazon. So for an almost $10-$15 dollar difference.... I don't see one difference AT ALL from the cheap compared to the Uni. I believe it's all part of the marketing ploy. Just like buying a $300 dollar pair of nikes. When you could of easily bought a $40 dollar pair of decent sneakers that would have probably lasted longer. Just putting my 2 cents out there. I believe anyone thinking there is an advantage to using an overpriced piece of foam may have some learning to do. I myself learned the hard way lol

You are probably correct, Uni does a lot of advertising and sponsoring, wingsmoto does not.that money has to come from somewhere, and you know it sure aint gonna be from their profit margin ,so thats where the increased cost comes in.

Probably true. I did install the UNI brand filter on my brozz. It has a red outer "pre-filter" and then an inner black filter. Does the cheaper version have two layers?
Very well could be better quality foam/glue, as well. Sometimes, you are really just paying for a name. Not saying the cheaper is worse, sometimes cheaper is better, just have to weigh your options. That's why we bought these bikes, right? Would be cool to see a side by side comparison of the two. |

If I could upload pics I would show you. They are identical. No bigger wholes or anything in the foam. When it come to two layers yes it has two layers just like the Uni. Only difference is the Uni is black with a red outer foam and the wingsmoto is red on red. The glue and the spring look identical too lol. Oh I did spot one difference. The Uni had a pretty logo printed on the outer foam LMAO!

It reminds me of a video I watched a bit ago. Where they took cheap shoes and threw some nike logos or some other name brand on them and they took on a whole new look.

Please provide a link. I tried the same thing to save some $$ and the one I got was crap..much bigger "holes" and it didn't take oil very well.
