DRZ400 Swing arm on XF250?
Anyone attempted to do this? Or successfully done it?
Also thinking of swapping triple tree with drz 400s. Thoughts, comments? |

I'm sure you'd be the first to do it, the triple trees shouldn't be an issue, but the swingarm might be tricky. How closely do they measure up?

I've thought about the triple trees, have you found any measurements? I was doing the research to install DRZ parts on my bike so i can use DRZ supermoto wheels and brakes but didn't get very far.

For a complete front end swap, it's really just a matter of steering stem (vs head tube) length, then bearing diameters and stem diameter top and bottom (assuming the new suspension's geometry is still favorable). It's less complicated than people think.

I was trying to find dimensions for all of that but was having trouble to be honest. I was just wondering if this fellow XF250 owner has any dimensions for either bike...

Well where do I start....
Picked up a 2013 xf250 w/ just about 5,000 miles on it for $600. (Dude was asking 1,000 but refused to work on it because price was already too low. “I’ll help you load it in your truck, after that it’s on you” he said to me. Said it had been sitting for a “while“ (2years) but had a new rear tire. Told him I didn’t need help loading it and I could pick it up immediately for $600. I know, lowball AF, but whatever. I figured he’d come back at me with 8 or tell me to F off. His answer? “When can you be hear?” 45 min later I’m loading bike into back of my truck, Almost unraveled a testicle doing it alone, but i got it. F**k yeah! Get the bike home, start to do the usual. Drain fluids Oil—looks decent, no smokey, no water. Check! Brake fluid—rear brake low, no leaks. Front brake, super low because of bad gasket. Easy fix...Check! Fork oil- ugh! Smelt like dog sheet when I drained, almost positive previous owner filled with gear oil. Seals still good, no leaks filled refilled with proper oil. F**kin check!! Fuel- f**king gel !? A half a tank of jello’d gas with a heavy dusting of rust. Awesome 1 gal of vinegar 2 box of baking soda 1 container of Fender washers 1 box of ground screws 48 hours of shaking, swirling, kicking, cussing, tank was clean Add fuel filter and fuel Clean carb Fix push button start She comes alive!!!!!! Let’s ride!! Gotta go back to work, finish up later today. -matty Last edited by MattyCorvs; 07-10-2020 at 05:26 AM. Reason: Clean up the language |
