I am in a little hamlet called riverview down by barrie area I guess... we were suppose to head up to the summer house next fri but I now have a orthopedic appt that day

Sorry to hear about your ankle. The battery might have originally been at the back, just opposite of the muffler. Look for evidence that metal straps have broken off. That happened to several owners back in the day. The battery cables shouldn't be too far.
