2017 Apollo 36 250cc Starting problems.

So my dirt bike when it’s started runs great and idols good too
But the problem is starting it. It takes forever to start it and I don’t know why. I have good spark fuel and air.

Are you using the choke? Have adjusted the valves lately? Tight valve clearance can cause hard starts.

Yes I have to flip the choke on and off a bunch of times and then it starts to want to start if that makes sense

Was it always this way? If so, it sounds like the slow jet is a little too small for your elevation. If not, your slow jet might be a little clogged. Have you set the valves lately?

It’s a new carburetor and I also just bought the bike
I have done anything with the valves and I’m not too sure on how to set them or anything

Here's a video on how to set the valves on the Apollo 250. As Weldandgrind said the pilot my be too small. You will need to check what size pilot and main jet you have installed.

When you're saying that you're flipping it a ton, are you saying that you're using it like a primer for a mower? That's not how these chokes work.

You should leave the choke engaged when you try to start it, and once it's running smoothly, you then turn it off.

Also, do what they said, too.

I understand how a choke works I’m saying that’s the only way I could get it to start

How exactly are you operating the choke, precisely?
