Can the hawk handle grip warmers and a 12v plug out?
I tried to do a thread search but came up empty.
I switched to led head light and brake light. I'd like to add warmers ,https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F372191148402 5v cell charger and maybe an led flood lamp.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IY3YLCI..._kwa6AbTBWR16Z Am I asking too much? |

The TT250 is sold with an upgraded 300W 18 pole stator in order to handle the demand of items like that. By Comparison, the Hawk uses a typical 8 pole stator with around 160W output. Now, you could upgrade your stator to a 12 pole or even the 18 pole unit like the one found in the TT250. The catch to this is that these are DC stators, which will require a different regulator/rectifier and changing the CDI to a DC unit. Now, you could do it the easy way if wiring is something akin to the devil to you. You can order the TT250 wiring harness, Stator, Reg/Rec, and CDI unit through CSC. Total cost for all 4 parts is about $130. If you have the skill to make the wiring changes yourself to the stock Harness, you can save yourself $55 and skip the TT250 wiring harness. You can also buy the 18 pole stator on Aliexpress for $25 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/magn...812439148.html I would recommend upgrading the reg/rec to a Mosfet unit like the FH012AA, but it isn't entirely necessary. The TT250 Reg/Rec will bolt right on the Hawk and work just fine for about $25 through CSC, which is about the same price as most units I find on Aliexpress. I haven't added any accessories to my Hawk though, so I can't speak from experience. It is very possible that you could run said items without killing the battery with a full LED bulb setup. It really depends on how much power draw was reduced vs. how much power the other items will draw.

Apart from the usual DC-Cdi/ new reg. U also need a new flywheel (A. Stock flywheel's magnets # won't works w/ those "18" B.It's a 93mm!!! ) if orders the TT250 parts 12 pole (88.6mm) 1??W is the direct fit for stock 8-pole There's different variety that starts from 120W (the 1st generation) https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=40733382655 | 180W (specialist) https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=1651715694 | (specialist) 2xxW https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=6700943884 Those readily available 160W (aka for 天釔CG in parts house) is good enough. 160w or 100w? Okay looks like I need to do some research on the watt draw of what I'm using now. The H4 headlight was a 60/55w the tail light was 8.3w. If the LED headlight I installed was 36w and the tail 3w then that's a saving of 24.3w on the low end. The flood lamp uses 18w so that should be fine. The phone charger is 5v x 2amp =10w. So that puts me pretty close at 67w. The heated grips are 30w total on high so that's just under the 100w mark. Maybe if I don't use the flood light or phone charger at the same time I will be okay. Yeah the sound of replacing a bunch of the electrical system doesn't sound fun to me. Thanks for the info!

There are some things you could do to up your charging game and try to make the most out of the stock stator setup. Upgrading the main ground strap is a good place to start. My bike now has a 6ga ground strap between the battery and engine case. it takes about a 1ft length of cable to replace it. Another thing you could do is upgrade the regulator/rectifier to a MOSFET unit. This will be a more efficient setup, and with the sense wire eliminated it will create a steady charge voltage.

What all would be required to alter the wiring for the stock harness to accept the new stator? I actually have the regulator, stator, new flywheel, and was going to buy a new programmable cdi (if i can map the old cdi to the new dc cdi somehow).
Would I be altering just several wires, or inadvertently redoing the whole system? |
