Amstar Motors?
I saw their 49cc retro moped-ish bikes on a Facebook scooter group I belong to, so clicked on their website; they offer some very Taotao-like ATVs, and typical Chinese 50cc and 150cc scooters, some 70cc and a 125cc pitbike, but they also show a 400cc adventure bike!! They list Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. as their address (not too far from CSC's headquarters), so I wonder if their 400cc is here now, or will it be on their website for a year+ while they wait for EPA/DOT??! Looks promising as a new(?) company!!

This was on Amstar's Facebook page (listed as 'Quality Scooters and Off-Road Adventure Vehicles' which is probably the American importer, whereas Amstar is the Chinese manufacturer) although it is not on the Amstar site. Someone asked about the specs--she is 22 years old, 5' 9", likes long walks on the beach--oh, the bike? 150cc and 4 speed...

Just got a reply on FB regarding the 400; the rep stated they will be available "next year." If Amstar are related to Zongshen, as seemingly indicated in some of their specs on their site (i.e. 'zs49') it would make sense since these would be a 'cousin' to the CSC bikes. Unless these bikes' engines were mfg. by Loncin, not Zongshen. I don't think Lifan OEM large engines for other manufacturers, but I have seen a few small bikes, I believe off-road only, on the EPA/DOT certification spreadsheet listing Lifan as OEM. CCW are the only big bikes who I have seen list Lifan as their OEM recently. Anyway, they would need to price these much lower than CSC's new larger engine bikes to convince people to buy them. I would go as far as the same price as the 250 RX3. It would be interesting to have a low-cost alternative to the more established CSC bikes with a 400cc, kind of like the Xingyue 400 bikes we had years ago which were 'cheap' but turned out to have a fatal engine flaw.

Not Zongshen bro - maybe some of the motors are but these bikes from this daler looks nothing like any Zongshen makes locally ( I could very well be wrong)
i have seen the small bike in the pic maybe the girl too in my local dealers photos |
