Yea mine is the same way ... I have to give it some throttle and twist it a little or it will die . But once I hit a few lights it idles on its own so look at this pic
. Sorry it's sideways .. I see the idle screw obviously but what is the screw at the bottom towards the bowl is there a air fuel mixture screw?? |

Oh hey also what's up with not being able to trip a light or get out of a gate in my condo complex?? My car opens gate if I pull up close to it.. but not the tt 250.. does it not weigh enough to trip lights to green and open gates

When I lived in Vegas I sometimes experienced fluctuating idle speeds during the summer months. As Culcune mentioned, get access to your idle mixture screw if you haven't already. I have always adjusted the idle mixture first and only then do I set the idle speed with the throttle cable adjustments. Trying to rely on throttle cable adjustments alone might just mask the symptoms. I would try and make adjustments in the early morning when temps have cooled off a little if possible.
The screw I think you are mentioning is the one on the bottom of the bowl? If so that is used to drain the carburetor for removal or servicing. If your gate uses a pressure sensor under the asphalt the bike probably won't weigh enough to open it. Maybe find a big friend willing to ride 2-up with you? Good Luck.

thanks 2LZ.... I think the air/mixture screw is the one under the cap directly left of the idle screw... im not sure which screw is on the bottom of the bowl.. also how do I get the cover off on the air mixture screw?

You have to carefully drill through the cap without hitting the screw underneath. Then thread a small machine screw into the hole and pull it out with pliers. There isn't much holding the cap in there. It's just a pain to get out.

You can see the shroud around the pilot mixture screw in your first pic. It has a blue mark on it.
