Hi new to the site, need help identifying a part on a Chinese 250cc
Hi I’m lookin for help identifying this weird part. I bought a 250cc “dongfang” motorcycle engine, it’s the cg copy I’m sure. I ordered it from eBay 120$, and it ended up Being brand new. It has an oil line coming from the cylinder and into a circular pump thing? With a hose out the other end. Idk what it does I neve seen one before. What I want to know is, can I take it off and plug the fitting? My hawk 250 has the same hole on the cylinder but it’s blocked off. Thanks in advance and sorry if this is the wrong place.

That is an air injection pump. It is for emissions, and if it is not needed it can be removed. Remove the pipe going to the cylinder head and make a simple block off plate for the cylinder head, then remove the pump and other lines. Get a nipple cover to block the fitting connection on the intake and you are done.
