By talking about turbos and twin cyl engines your really just making it more complex then it has to be.
Seriously, take a look at a Rebel 250 engine. I really think it would almost be a bolt in deal. Too bad they only make as much hp as the Chinese engines.
But I have been eyeing Ninja 250 and 500 twins. They aren't too tall, long or wide and I really think the carb and exhaust routing would nearly be a non issue. If I locate one for the right price I'll take the plunge and see if it fits for certain. I'm 99% sure the 250 will fit, the 500 is taller and a bit wider through the head. The 250 is attractive to me because at around 30 crank hp I don't think it would stress the bike too much... and to see the reactions when I pass someone on a Chinese dirtbike turning 13,000 rpms! (redline is 14,000 IIRC).
