Curious minds need to know.... CDI send a spark every revolution???
So, I'm in the process of assembling a new ignition system- beefier DC 18 pole stator, new DC CDI and regulator/rectifier on my Lifan 200cc engine. As I pulled the old flywheel off and installed a new one, I couldn't help but wonder about spark.
So anyone know if these engines use a "wasted spark" where it simply sparks every revolution, or if it only sparks every 2 revolutions?? If every 2, how would it know the valve timing and which TDC to fire.... I'll be done rewiring tomorrow, and will definitely know if it's ok, but it's just bugging me.... Thanks in advance for your help! |

It's definitely located on the flywheel (crank). So a spark every Revolution. That explains the settings on my aftermarket Koso tachometer too. Makes sense. Thank to you all for your help!
