Rectifier Question

Was wondering what is the purpose of the rectifier and could it being bad cause no spark to the plugs....Thanks

The rectifier purpose is to take the stators charging current and convert it into a consistent steady approximately 13.5 volts to charge the battery and run the lights. I don't think it is needed for the ignition system, but it depends on the bikes wiring.

Hi, are you having an ignition problem?

I was never very good with trouble shooting electrical systems, probably due to a lack of need and practice. But if I had to find a problem or wanted to refresh my understanding of these systems I would read and recommend this type of source to trace any problem that might crop up. This kind of help is very easy to find and this is just one of the many resources available on the internet.
