What should I remove/modify on new Hibird 250?

Somewhere on here I saw a post about what this was hanging down on the Hibird 250, but I cant seem to find it now. Does anyone know what this is, it is really annoying puffing hot air on the leg as I ride. I assume it is a vent of some type, just not sure if it is supposed to be plumbed into something, I guess I could just re-route it somewhere else if it is supposed to be open to the air like it is now.
Any other stuff I can do to the motor since I am now taking it all apart to get to the carb to hopefully figure out my low rpm issue?

More than likely it's some sort of crank case vent.

Most engines have them. On cars the crank case vent usually runs back into the air intake stream. It's already filtered air, so it doesn't matter if you run it back through the engine.

On bikes it will usually connect to the airbox.

It is for emissions. It vents unburned oxygen back into the intake track to be burned. They aren't necessary for the running of an engine, and more than likely on these bikes they are just vented to the air. That piece is probably a filter of some sort.

My Ninja 250's crank case vent is just vented to the air...not filter or anything on it. The only real reason to put a filter on something like that is so that no bugs or mice or whatever get down in the engine. I'd leave that filter thing on there though...or get a nicer looking one from your local PepBoys or whatever.

that was my post , i pulled all my emissions and pluged the thing coming out of the exhaust pipe ,, then the crankcase vent i put a hose on and ran to the ground,, (I had to put a long hose on so it wouldnt kink cause it was a sharp turn.)

hope this helps.

did you notice that your speedo is off ? mine seems high.

This is an AIR valve tube. My Viva had it, as it CARB approved.

No need for it, and I was tired of it leaking. I removed the fitting on the right side of the top-front of the cyclinder head, and replaced it with a piece of 3/4" x 1/8" flat stock.
