High $ Performance Upgrade
Haha scored a Mikuni for Swamp Thing, $35.00.
I do love the China bikes when it comes to this stuff. Now i really need to address my fuel tank issue, too darn tiny.

I've had terrific success with that carb model.

I've already noticed a few little things like the choke has incremental positioning so it stays at a setting on it's own. The old one was under constant spring tension as was based on the resistance of the choke cable.
But I have been reading and living with the other carb (that one killed me at $18.00 shipped lol) but looks like they run a lot better with the Mikuni. So for the price thought I'd take a shot. Gas tank is like 1.8 gallons I think, very small so to ride anywhere where there is any off road riding requires careful planning and carrying reserve gas. The new carb may improve mileage some but the bottom line is I need to carry more fuel. But I'm still having fun with the Swamp Thing and it's far from breaking the bank on any mods so I'm still happy. Considering what I started with it a very competent little bike now. But the fuel capacity issue has become a point of annoyance, I'll figure something out.

Are you using the choke cable with the Mikuni?

The cable gives you the ability to set the choke in just about any position. The lever has full, half, and off. The cable isnt really necessary.

I forget what bike you have, but if its similar to my roketa/shinray db07a, its not terribly jard to do a dr650 swapped tank...it takes a bit of frame modding, and doesn't quite match the seat but the 3.5 gal (for the California model tank that I have, 3.9 for non cali tank) is so much nicer than the 1.2gal I originally had....

You might have an easier time with an old XR200 plastic tank, since the frames are so similar.

I have to use the cable on my quad, but I deleted it on my Lifan.

I tried using the cable on the Rhino when I swapped out the carb and it didn't like the detents. Not saying it's like that with every setup. The choke lever is so easy to get to on the Rhino, it was no big deal. I'd LOVE to hook up a cable on the TT250 though. That choke lever is impossible to find in a pinch.
