The other day I walked into a local bike shop/salvage yard to pick up something for a friend, and the first thing I saw when I walked in the door was a brand new Lifan LF200GY-5. Apparently they received a shipment of Lifans earlier this month, and plan to carry a full line of chinese bikes, scooters, and ATV's. Price on the LF200GY-5 is $1995, with similarly high prices on the other models. I don't mind paying a little more for professional setup and local service, but the $800 premium they get for putting it together is a bit too much for me to swallow.

That sounds like a Canadian price and we pay too much for everything.

Take at least another $200-300 off and it would be getting close to reasonable.

The advantage to buying it would be the local dealer/parts/warranty access and the tax and title are included.

Also if the dealer is professional enough to have assembled it correctly and done the neccessary prep work to make it ready to ride.

If you like the bike and it the dealer will include some more stuff like a helmet, some accessories, free oil changes, and drop the price alittle you may be able to make a deal.

Yeah, that's a bit steep. You might be able to talk them down a few hundred.
