Valve clearence help!!!
Anyone know what the valve clearence would be for a star 200cc atv. It dosent say in the manual! Thanks

heres the best pic i got right now. I ajusted the valves to at intake .002 and exhaust at .003 and it is still ticking. It is a 200cc motor that you have to remove the head to ajust the valve clearence.

I have the water cooled version of this engine. I also adjusted it to 0.002" intake and 0.003" exhaust. It is very quiet when cold but ticks some when warm. My understanding is that is the way it is supposed to be on this engine since valve clearance increases as it warms up. Basically, the aluminum block expands more than the steel pushrods. You certainly do not want them too tight, since that could cause the valves not to completely close. If they don't close completely the engine will not run well and the valves will burn up.

The valve ticking is normal for a pushrod motor. Spec is .05mm clearance if I'm not mistaken.
