so the ultimate question from who you buy your lifan gy5
I see different posts and different prices all the time on here. A gy5 from t-sport for 795.00 what are some of the dealers for best price and a good deal.
I'll admit it, Im cheap, this will be a toy for me so I am looking for the most bang for my buck!! After all the best ride isn't necessarily the most expensive!!!!   |

Look through the Dealer Discussion & Registration areas of the site. If you are looking for a bike to be drop shipped to you there is a lot of information in these two areas to guide you.

If you're referring to T- Motorsports I'd be wary.

If you buy a Lifan you get a Lifan. The difference in the $795 bike and the $1,495 bike is prep and warranty (most likely none with the ebay or tsports bike). If you are a do-it-yourself kinda guy, go with the cheaper bike. You just hope you get all the parts, and if not you hope you don't have to wait months. (this is the kind of stuff I read from the people who have troubles) FWIW

MrHyack, the problems on the thread weren't so much with the Lifan bike vs Lifan bike, but T-motorsports itself. They had some issues with drop-shipping and the MSO to register the bike (some states), and shipping damage, etc.
If you live close enough to them, you can actually pick up the bike in person, and not pay shipping. Liverchip did that with a Shineray pure dirt bike, as most off-road Lifans are forbidden in California, and had a good experience.

But everybody keeps saying the many and various importers can spec these bikes anyway they want - and certainly there are visible differences in some of the bikes. So why can't they specify a model to hit a price point that the factory meets with invisible differences like a suggestion welded and none-to-well-aligned frame with no primer and thin paint, electrics with low cost insulation and connectors, forks and shocks with less expensive & less durable materials and inexpensive, low grade fasteners and plastics? Or specify a "durable version" that the factory builds with the best that the Chongqing industrial area has to offer and sets the price on themselves? Hey, I'm not in the industry; I'm just one guy. I'm not going to buy dozens of these bikes from several importers and compare them. I'm just going to own the one and won't discover if it's worse/exactly the same as/better than everybody else's models until it's too late. I don't want to pay more for nothing; I don't want to pay less and regret it. Best, tcs |

As Culcune said, I purchased from T-Motorsports and had no issues, but as also mentioned, I picked the bike up in person and had them do the paperwork as they are a dealer. I know others have had issues getting proper MSO's from these jokers. It's amazing what you can get done if you go to them in person.

how near PA? anywhere near Pittsburgh? There is a dealer in Wheeling, Wv where I got my bike. I paid 1576.00 including taxes and all paperwork (and titled in my state OH). They had a nice blue one there when I bought mine, had the counterbalanced motor too.

Hi silverman1
If you don't mind the drive or a 2006 A. Lifan LF200GY-5, I have two blue ones left in stock. I discounted them to $1299.00 plus tax & title. Since you are in PA you would pay $1299.00 plus a $35.00 title fee, then pay your sales tax when you transfer the OH title, to a PA title. Ohio Dealers Must provide you an Ohio title. This is the way it works {law} in Ohio. The bike will be fully Assembled, Prepped & PDI'ed when it's ready to go home. Just for every one's information: No, I do not and will not ship any vehicles assembled or in a crate.

Yes it is against the Law in Ohio, {as said} All Sales of any Motor Vehicle must be made at the Dealers Location. There are guys/so called dealers that ship illegally, for instance R@K@T@K, located in Lorain, OH. ships. There was a guy from Florida (recently on chinariders) that purchased one from them and had trouble getting his title. The guy should have Reported this company to the State of Ohio. http://www.netnetstore.com/store/page0.html

I've said it before, and not because Bruce pays me (where's my check, Bruce? LOL) but buying from Bruce would make alot of sense, even for an '06, if it was prepped and all.
