I just called CSC this morning and they'll ship a 17T out to me today. I should have it by this weekend and I'll just have to put some serious miles on! Er, kilometers... Or kilomiles, which is an excellent (if somewhat misleading) unit of measurement.

Just checked this morning and it still hasn't shipped. :-(

Just in case of a hang-up, They're not getting mine to measure until I get theirs in the mail...... I really don't want to finish the TT project until I get that sprocket! They've always shipped quickly to me in the past. Maybe they have to stamp this one out or something. I'll check with them today.

Wait, do you have a 47T sitting around? If so, that'd be great! I'd imagine that it should work even without the offset. If it came right down to it, like was mentioned earlier, a spacer ought to do the trick.

Not optional. It appear that the center of the sprocket is held on by a big "C" clip.
I'll get a true measure on the offset tonight now that it's off the bike. I doubt that a 4-5mm offset will effect anything with the length of the chain.

Ah, I see. I guess I haven't looked that closely at this bike's sprocket system.

it would only be a temporary solution. misaligned chains wear out faster.

ok so i installed the 47 tooth sprocket today. bunch of info to follow...

-there is no cushion on the tt hubs, the bolts holding the sprocket on thread right into the aluminum, makes the spring clip ring unnecessary.

-the jt sprockets center hole is about 1mm too small to fit all the way down and seat where the stock sprocket does, instead it fits on the end right up to the slot for the spring clip ring.

- the stock sprocket can flip upside down to be a spacer for the jt sprocket. in this configuration both sprockets can be used by loosening the chain and moving it to the other sprocket. (dual range final drive).

-with the chain on the outer sprocket (should be the same offset as stock) if the chain is properly aligned then its center line is about 1.5" to the right of the front wheels centerline - resulting in a slight crab walk.

-with the chain on the inner sprocket. (offset reversed) i think the crab walk will be to the other side.

-I believe that with the jt sprocket center hole sanded out to enlarge it just enough to slide on that it will be in the proper offset when flush.

-with the 47 tooth i hit 63 mph think i'll order the 43 tooth

Excellent news kohburn! Thanks! I have no idea how I missed these posts... Great info. I like the old "Honda Trail 90" gearing option!

63 mph is fine for what we're looking for. Mrs. 2LZ doesn't want top lose all the low speed trail crawling, just in case. I think in her mind, if she wants to go fast, she'll take her Victory. ;-)
Keep us posted on the 43 tooth. I'm interested.
