I'd jump on it if it were a bright color for high visibility.

Thanks for the tip Backroads, I picked up a large in forest green. Very nice sturdy jacket I highly recommend it. I'm 5'10" 180 lb and the large is perfect. Lot of value there

Me three, just received mine. Really awesome jacket!
I really like all the stretchy cord fit adjusters hidden away in the pockets and vents. Also, lots of reflective piping and patches. Thanks backroads!

Ordered mine 8 days ago and have not processed yet. Don't be in a hurry if you want a coat.

Two month review
Hello all,
After using the Alterra jacket for a while I thought I'd pass on some thoughts. 1. The jacket is very comfortable for long and short trips 2. It's very well constructed with good quality removable protection 3. It's not as warm as I expected, the shell transfers the cold quickly. I ordered a large which fit well (5'10" 180) but is a little too snug when layered particularly in the sleeves. I'm ordering an xl and will update this post when it arrives. 4. Still haven't rain tested yet. Darn California weather. Update: The XL is an improvement, more room for layering but also allows more cooling air to circulate. I've worn it on long rides in the high 80's-so far so good. After receiving your jacket, be sure to try on layers and send back for an exchange right away if necessary. I think there is a fairly short exchange period. I have the forest green in L and bought the XL in black. Both are nice colors but I think I prefer the black.
