Lifan LF400 or the Vento Colt?
Hey, gang;
I'm just doing some research here. What do you think of the Vento Colt and the soon to be released Lifan LF400? I like the looks of both and hope to get a chance to ride them when they are sold here in CO. So, let me know your opinions. Appreciate it! |

Lifan vs Vento
Our local Vento dealer droped the Cycle line and now only carries scooters - They told me the product is just not reliable yet !

I would pick the Lifan over the Vento, but I would look at the Qlink cruiser, too, the Legend (not the automatic one, although there is nothing wrong with it). The Vento does have a nice look to it, though, but quality could be another issue.

Yeah...I'm not hearing good things about the Colts. That Qlink cruiser looks cool, but, man it's a short bike! 84.6 inches long. Oh, well. Good looking bike, tho..

Anyone hear anything new about the Lifan LF400, yet?
I'm still waiting to see if and when they actually make it to the US. |

Had a friend who bought a Vento a little more then a year ago and had nothing but trouble with it... He ended up dumping it for about half what he paid, got tired of the headache.

Yeah...I'm pretty much in the same boat with my bike!
American Lifan wants 4k for the LF400! I think they've been smoking something! http://www.americanlifan.com/lifan3/products.html |

But did you see the 250-b they had right under it? You were wanting to compare the Vento Colt to the new Lifan 400, but the new 250 Lifan would make a better comparison.
I think 4k is a little steep, even for a 400, but supply and demand economics will ultimately decide the prices down the road. Qlink has a nice looking cruiser, too, and that might make a good alternative.

Yeah, I saw the 250. It looks like a Yamaha something. I think Lifan is sick for what they are asking. For 4k, I'd get the new Ninja with REAL performance, quality and support!

Uh, yeah, but nobody pays MSRP for a Chinabike, do they? IMO the importers set the MSRPs high for "perceived value" and to make the customer feel like they're getting a deal on the actual sales price.
AL's LF200GY5 is MSRP'ed @ $1900, but the going rate seems to be maybe ~$1300. The new LF200B is set @ $2250 but dealers seem to be asking ~$1600/1700. Now if a customer demanded to pay MSRP (LOL!), I still think the AL LF400 would be a better deal than a 250cc Colt @ Vento's MSRP of $3500. TCS |

Well, I'm gonna just hang in there for a bit to see what happens when more dealers pick up the LF400. Yeah, I'm expecting the price to drop. I just don't wanna get robbed.

Olds_cool, may be good news coming down the pike on your Tank. My dealer says that Tank has told them they are going to be able to get parts for the bikes soon. Remember, I have the Tank 200 DS and have been waiting for a brake caliper, headlight fairing, tank covers and speedo cable for quite a while. Maybe Tank has decided they want to remain in business and will start bringing in parts for the bikes they sell.

Hey, deputygene...long time no hear.
Well, my mind is pretty much made up. The only way I'm keeping the bike is if no one buys it. I'll have it up for sale on Craigslist soon. Too much of nothing from Tank has happened. |

I know how you feel, mine still runs, but, if I had to do it over again would have gotten a Lifan.
