At this point I am just going to treat it as a slip on
So I am not going have to modify the stock header, except a small 1-2 inch extension, because of the cutoff old muffler Hopefully I won't even have to do that It will be a cheap experiment, exhaust is only costing me $80.00 |

does the rx3 and the rs3 use the same muffler? in the video he says its the same engine but the exhaust sounds better. maybe its a performance muffler? might be worth a call. http://www.cscmotorcycles.com/CSC-RC3-2016-p/zrc3.htm

Looks like frames are completely different
Base on the pics it also looks like the diameter of the pipe is larger on the RC3 So I think it might be more work to try to modify that setup But not a bad thought |

i was thinking just the muffler and using the stock header and pipes.leave enough pipe on the muffler for an exhaust shop to swage it so it would slide over original pipe.

ECU mods?
With other bikes that I am familiar (Ducati & Moto Guzzi, using Marelli ECU) a change to the exhaust can have a detrimental affect on engine performance. That's because the ECU is programmed to take a bunch of inputs and adjust the fuel/ignition accordingly. If the exhaust has less resistance the ECU does not know that so things get out of whack. Normally that's not catastrophic, it usually just means rotten fuel mileage. However, there is a chance for engine damage if things get too far out of control. The solution is to make adjustments to the ECU map. Does anyone make an app/program to diagnose the Delphi ECU and make adjustments to the map?

I had the same thoughts as you, so I had my bike dyno'd for air/fuel ratios. here's my thread on the dyno results: http://www.chinariders.net/showthrea...880#post202880 The Delphi is an excellent ECU and did fine to compensate for the free flowing muffler. The A/F ratios were pretty much spot on. It could be richer if we're looking for more performance and tenability, but that's where the Power Commander would come into play. |

rt, thanks for the link to your dyno run. It looks like the factory claims are 100% legit. The only place where I'd want to see improvement is in the 2-4K range where your/my bike is running pretty lean. That seems to be typical of FI systems with an O2 sensor for closed loop up to 3500 or 4000 rpm. I suspect that the EPA measurements are done in that range. Since the RX3 does not spend much time between 2~4K it's probably not worth taking the time to re-map the ECU. Now, is there any way to tap into the ODB lead and get engine data such as error codes?
