Zongshen RX3 Tire Options
Finding a good, domestic tire for the front rim is relatively easy. I first intend to wear out the stock, CST, C6017 front tire. The stock tire is not available for sale in North America, so I will probably replace the front tire with a Shinko 244 in size 3.00-18.
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...CqLBoCWvzw_wcB Before I switched to a 21-inch front wheel on my Zongshen 200GY-2, I mounted a Shinko 244 on the 18-inch front wheel, and it performed well. Here is a photograph of the size 3.00-18 tire mounted on my Zong's front wheel. This is a nice, dual sport tire with an attractive price of $30.99. I also intend to wear out the stock tire on the rear wheel, but I will then switch to tire with a more aggressive tread pattern. There are several very nice choices for 17-inch rear wheel. One choice is the Shinko, 244 rear tire in size 5.10-17. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...edWBoCLoLw_wcB Another nice choice is the Shinko, 700 rear tire in size 5.10-17. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...miMhoCRpjw_wcB Yet another good option is the Kenda, K270 rear tire in size 5.10-17. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...pose-rear-tire

Here is an old video describing the Shinko, dual sport tires.

The stock, CST, C6017, 17-inch rear tire is not available for sale in North America.
However, the Shinko 705 tire is very similar to the CST tire, and is available in size 130/90-17. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...IUihoCdynw_wcB

The Shinko 244 tire handles very well on every surface, except mud. In heavy mud the Shinko 244 is useless. Fortunately, if one is taking an adventure where heavy mud might be encountered, you can mount the CST, Surge I (C7210) tire in size 100/90-18, on the stock front wheel of the RX3. I use the 21-inch version of this tire on the front wheel of my Honda XR650L. It performs very well on pavement, even at 85 mph, and it will keep you upright in the nastiest mud you will encounter.
http://www.edgextremesports.com/stor...SVZhoC-gTw_wcB Although it is never advertised as such, the CST, Surge I tire is DOT approved.

The 17-inch rear wheel of CSC Cyclone RX3 offers a wide selection of suitable, dual sport tires.
I like doing business with Rocky Mountain ATV/MC (RMATV). If I order before 5 p.m., I will receive my order the next morning. RMATV just switched to FedEx delivery, so I now get orders delivered on Saturday morning as well. Therefore, I can get tires delivered as soon as I need them, at very competitive prices. RMATV offers the following, 17-inch rear tires which should work very well on the back wheel of the Zongshen RX3. Shinko 244, size 5.10-17 https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...ual-Sport-Tire Shinko 705, Size 130/80-17 https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...otorcycle-Tire Kenda K270, size 5.10-17 https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...ual-Sport-Tire Kenda K784, Size 130/80-17 https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...ture-Rear-Tire Besides the good prices and quick delivery, I also earn frequent buyer points when shopping at RMATV.

Here are the diameters of a nice selection of 17-inch knobby tires which are available for sale in North America. All of these tires fit a 3-inch rim.

If I were riding one of the Backcountry Discovery Routes, I would prefer to mount a Kenda K760 rear tire. If possible, I would also like to gear down the sprocket ratio for a little more torque.

If you are riding an off road adventure, you need a front tire which won't dump you in the mud. I like the CST, Surge I tire in size 100/90-18 for the front wheel of the RX3.

Having a 17-inch rear wheel gives RX3 owners access to a wide selection of excellent rear tires.
You can't go wrong with either the Dunlop D606, or the Perelli MT21; both are perennial favorites with dual sport riders. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...ual-Sport-Tire https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...ort-Rallycross I would like to try the Kenda Big Block tire at some point in the future. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...ture-Rear-Tire If you are riding an adventure in the sloppy springtime, you cannot beat the aggressive tread of the Kenda K760 TrakMaster. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...master-II-Tire You certainly can't beat the affordability of the Shinko 244, Kenda K270, or Shinko 705 rear tires. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...ual-Sport-Tire https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...ual-Sport-Tire https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...otorcycle-Tire With the 17-inch rear wheel you can easily find a tire tread to suit your preferred riding style, and the seasonal road conditions.

The Shinko 705 tire patten is also
used by Fullbore tires USA.. Maybe the same tire rebranded... Being made in the USA it might be cheaper a simular tire to the Shinko 705 is the Kenda 761

In sloppy riding conditions, a knobby tire on the front wheel is more important than a knobby tire on the rear wheel. If the rear wheel spins a bit, you can usually fishtail the bike and remain upright. However, if the front wheel either slips or locks up, you are usually going down.
Here are my two favorite tires for the 18-inch front wheel. CST, Surge I Tire: Size 100/90-18 http://www.csttires.com/int/moto/off...c7210-surge-i/ http://www.bikebandit.com/tires-tube...-BWhoCHQnw_wcB Shinko 244 Tire: Size 3.00-18 http://www.bikebandit.com/product/9877

Another nice tire for the front, 18-inch wheel is the Michelin T63 in size 110/80-18.
https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...FVFcfgodg2gAdA I have mounted this tire on the rear wheel of my Honda XR650L. It does a pretty good job, and is reasonably priced. The Michelin T63 will probably clear mud from the tread better than the Shinko 244. One could mount the size 110/80-18 tire on the front wheel, and the size 130/80-17 on the rear wheel.

The Pirelli MT21 is another excellent choice for a front tire. The MT21 is a perennial favorite with dual sport riders, and the size 110/80-18 tire is a good fit for the RX3 front wheel.
https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...ort-Rallycross The size 130/90-17 tire is a also an excellent choice for the rear wheel.
