buzz 50 excess oil trouble
Originally thought engine was sucking oil from gearbox but now realise gearbox is totally seperate so am now suspecting there might be a seal behind the self mixing pump that is leaking and keeps fouling the plug plus blowing excess oil out of exhaust , I'd prefer to keep the self mixing system has anyone else had similar problems

First check that the injection pump is adjusted correctly...

Gday
Pete , the gearbox is totally desperate , as in 200 km away so no chance of that being the problem , have had bike for 10 years so I wouldn't expect the adjustment to just go out |

OK.......................... So you have not checked or adjusted the pump settings for 10 years.... Do you think it maybe over-due to have a look...? you are right..things usaly don't " JUST GO OUT" it's a slow process that started the day you bought it and it's finaly got to a stage where it efects the way it runs... If this is the issue... .

Seem to have sorted problem . drained oil tank and refilled with new stuff .took girls for a 3 hour ride and no problems . still some excess smoke when warm but am thinking it maybe excess build up in muffler as it is getting less

I recently saw an alarming pic on a two-stroke Suzuki forum. A guy cut the header off of the expansion chamber, and the passage was almost totally clogged!
You can clean the exhaust by removing it and throwing it a fire pit or burn barrel until it stops smoking. I can't do that in my area, so I clamped one in a vise outdoors and slowly heated it with a torch. It took a long time, but it worked great.
