2007 Lifan GY5 Motor trouble :o
Hello everyone, I have a 2007 Lifan GY5 enduro that has been sitting in the garage because the clutch basket went out on it. I was riding and I noticed a rattling in the engine, a small metal ring came lose and broke the clutch basket. Does anyone know where to find a new clutch basket and oil filter? I am having no luck! I am in the marines now and the bike is sitting back at my parents in the garage so I need to get it fixed I just cant find the parts haha If anyone can help me out that would be awesome! Thank you

Not sure about the oil filter, are you referring to the centrifugal filter?
I put one of these in my 2007 Lifan GY5 a couple weeks ago. Works fine. Complete clutch assembly including basket and cush gear. http://www.ebay.com/itm/380648867698...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Last edited by Mudflap; 09-19-2014 at 01:31 PM. Reason: spelling |

If it's the centrifugal oil filter you need, this one might fit.

Welcome, ctyockey! Thanks for your service in the Marines.
eBay is the quickest source for parts, like the basket and centrifugal oil filter. If you have some time (and it sounds like you do), you can order directly from China. Several of us have purchased parts on www.taobao.com and saved a ton. Use Google Chrome, allow it to translate automatically and search for GY5. Once that page loads, select motorcycle parts and enjoy. You'll have about 12 pages of stuff to check out.

Have you made any progress on the motor yet?

Thank you guys so much! I ordered the parts that you recommended @Mudflap and they fit so the bike is in the process of getting put back together! There was just one thing that we ran into.. would anyone happen to know the torque that the spanner nut on the centrifugal filter should be tightened to? This is the last thing we need before the bike is done.. Thank you!
