It always makes me laugh when I see the specs for these Chinese bikes, I don't have my calculator to hand but the quoted bore and stroke won't give you 250cc, and 85mph wow!! I might be very wrong but I think ths GS motor is a V twin out of the cruiser.

Yea, a 63.5x 49.8 BorexStroke works out to around 158cc?

Regardless of whate advertised nore, stroke and power is,,,,,, if it is a true was 250cc and could be registered street legal...I would consider it. I will have to keep my eyes open and listen for reports on it.

We could certainly make the 250 street legal here in Vermont. If it can be inspected; lights, muffler, mirrors, etc, it IS road legal. I got a couple guys in town riding Yamaha YZ450F's and a guy with a KTM 520 all registered. They just slap on aftermarket light kits and viola, road bike!

Yamaha has plans to make the WR250F and maybe the 450F streetlegal in 2008. I believe they will call it the WR250R. Both the KTM 450 and 525EXC are already streetlegal for 2007. Other manufacturers are sure to follow. Husqvarna has been doing it for a few years now. We have many options. The Husky TE250 is a great little streetlegal bike. One of the better bikes is the Husqvarna TE610. I almost bought one. It's a true 50/50 street/enduro bike. It's just a matter of time before the chinese will produce bigger and better streetlegal models.

Not an option here in Florida. If it was Id have a 4 stroke MX bike street legal right now...probably take a pig of an XR600 and make it street legal.
If it says on title/MSO "For off Road use" it can not be convertet to street regardless of how good your light kit is and even if it runds clean as a bicycle. |

My Roketa came with a "For off-road use only" sticker right on the back fender. I requested the MCO state "Motorcycle" under TYPE. No issues to register here at all. I suspect as more and more of these bikes show up on the street, the DMV will becore a little more strict on their requirements. My Roketa isn't EPA or DOT certified, but they never even asked or questioned it.
