Clutch Lever

I just put together my lifan 200 gy-5 and I dropped it on it side and bent the clutch lever. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Send a message via MSN to liverchip
I would pull it off and head down to the bike shop and look for a universal replacement.

If you're very careful you might be able to bend it back into shape. I use a small piece of pipe for just such tasks.

Hi Matthew04833
If you heat it with a acetylene/oxygen torch, holding it in a vise or on the bike you will be able to bend it back with ease. a propane torch most likely may not get the aluminum hot enough unless you have a special tip for that style torch. Remember not to over heat it as you can easily melt the lever.
I have them in stock if you need a new one.

Clutch Lever Tip 'O' The Week;

Running bark busters makes bent and broken levers a thing of the past.

Dont like bark busters? Try a few wraps of teflon sealing tape around the bar underneath the perch. Teflon sealing tape is in the plumbing section of your hardware store. It provides a slick surface that will allow the perch to slip on impact, rather than bending or breaking the perch/lever. You can knock the perch back into position, make sure to hit the perch and not the lever.

Many aftermarket perchs use a telon liner to accomplish this.
