Qlink XF Rear wheel / spoke replacement
I have a friend who is looking at a Qlink on Craigslist. Spoke to the owner, he says that the bike has a broken speedometer cable and a couple broken spokes on the rear wheel. Now I know that the cable can be replaced easily, but I have not read anything concerning the rear wheel.
I was wondering if any other CB rims will fit on this particular model bike or if a couple replacement spokes are easily had? Also, what is the general price range he might be looking at if he were to purchase this bike? The price is definitely right, so to put a few dollars into it will not be a problem. I just want to make sure a few dollars doesn't turn into a few more. 8O |

I had Buchanen's custom make some spokes for my bike a few years ago. If i recall corectly, they were about 3 or 4 bucks apiece. took about 1 week.

DR200se spokes may work too. If the price is right the problems seem easy to fix.
Dr200se speedo cable fits.

No other CB spokes will fit I don't think. The speedo cable is a universal (nearly) failure item. The Suzuki cable will not have the same issue. Another Chinarider bought a slightly abused Q for $750. My dealer friend is selling brand new ones for $1,600 IIRC. I sold my 2 year old one in perfect condition for $1,500. Roger sold his 1 year ols one in perfect condition for $1,700. YMMV.

As the other gentlemen related, acquiring new spokes won't be a problem. If Suzuki spokes don't fit, Buchanan's Spoke & Rim can certainly make new spokes for you.
I suggest you elevate the rear tire, and spin the wheel to check the rim for trueness. If the rear rim isn't bent, or out of round, replacing the missing spokes is easy. Spud

I have a Lifan rim laying around. I haven't had a chance to try but is there anyway it would bolt on, or are there vast differences between the two rims?
