2020 rps hawk head oil leak.
Just noticed that I have oil on the fin just below the head gasket and just a little running down the left side of the head but no further. Should I find out exactly what is likely leaking first or just order a new gasket and oil ring?
Where can I get a new gasket that is a great brand? |

It is possible that you can try to simply re-torque the head to stop the leak if it is only seeping past due to the head being loose. You will need to remove the rockers to gain access to the bolts, but the head bolts are torqued to 24ft-lbs in a 2 stage criss-cross pattern, and the 5th outer head bolt is torqued to around 16-20ft-lbs.
If not, or you just don't feel like bother with it and just want to do the head gasket, you have a couple of options. First, a new O-ring will be Honda part number 91301-200-000, or if you can find a Viton O-ring in M10x1.6mm you could also use that. As far as head gaskets, you have those 2 optins. One is a fibre head gasket like the original unit. These work just fine and they are a dime a dozen on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/67mm-Cylind...8AAOSwhrFe9aeZ Option 2 is the steel headgasket like the one used on the CSC TT250. This is thinner than the fiber gaskets, and will give a small bump in compression if used.

Rear tensioner bolts? The axle adjusters I assume? Put a jam nut on them (a second nut that tightens against the first one). Works for me without fail.

I don't know where you bought the Hawk, but I got a head gasket free from the seller under warranty on my Magician.

I bought it off a guy who never owned a bike before and was to short for it. He was at a light in turn lane and fell over for the 5th time so he put it up for sale. He always did so when sitting still so no damage. I have the parts on order from csc. On side note I hit a pretty nasty pot hole and bent the front rim. Any idea where I can get the whole assembly? Rim,spokes and hub? I have no experience with lasing and no shop around Charlottesville va will touch it.

It's funny that there are so many shops around that wont touch it. I've got 2 places near me that told me they didn't care about the brand and will true rims. Both are independent shops and not dealerships so maybe that's it?

Just finished upgrading mine to the TT250 Head gasket, easy job, cheap enough to do, so I said why not. But I haven't even run the engine yet so I'll have no data on the difference, I doubt my butt dyno would be able to tell anyway.
