Keihin PWK 30 or Accelerator pump Carb?
Hi All,
So I'm thinking of replacing my vm26 clone. I have come across these two carbs on the forums here. 1. Keihin PWK 30 Carb- http://chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=21329 2. Accelerator pump Carburetor- http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=21082 Both seem to have great reviews on threads above. Which one is better or would be your preference? What would you say are the pros and cons to each? Thanks, Roy |

I'm assuming this is for your Apollo 250? On a stock engine the Accelerator pump Carburetor would be the best option.
The Keihin PWK 30 would be good if you plan on porting the head and installing a freer flowing exhaust.

I did a bit more research on the pumper carb and have concerns about the non standard jets and the issues everyone has had sourcing jets. Also the inconsistency of what carb "model" you get.
Thoughts? http://www.chinariders.net/showthrea...t=lever&page=2 |

This is the pumper I bought, and it has genuine Keihin jets. Don't know if they've changed since then. https://www.ebay.com/itm/PZ30-Accele...e/263422409914

Make sure you get a throttle cable too. It has to have 2 cables to operate the carb. It starts out as one at the twist grip and splits into 2 under the gas tank. Edit: Never mind. Just saw that it comes with cable. lol

Looks like your link was a winner. Here is what I received. The spare jets do not have any numbering that I can see. I have yet to take it a part and see whats inside. The mikuni I have currently runs a 20 pilot (3/4 turns out on the pilot screw) I have the needle on the richest setting and a 115 main. The bike is running perfect with this set-up. What Keihin jets do you recommend I get? I also do not see anything to convert to a manual choke. |

Thanks Cravin01 but i don't think those will fit. It's hard to tell in the pic but this carb uses
what appear to be exact copies of Keihin style jets. I'll try to take some better pics. I'm really looking for the size recommendations based on my Mikuni jet sizes. |

They do fit but I have not put them in the carb on my bike. I put them in my old PZ30 that came with my bike last night and they screwed right in but are shorter.

Rcsup, thanks for detailing what you received. Like you, I didn't get anything to convert it to a manual choke. I'm gonna see if I have an old Keihin around that can donate the choke parts.
I don't have a specific recommendation on jets for you, but Keihin jets are numbered about 10% higher than Mikuni. IOW, a 100 Mikuni is a 110 Keihin. FWIW, Mikuni jets are tied to millimetres; a 100 jet is 1.00mm, a 110 jet is 1.10mm, etc.
