The Hawk's Have Landed
Ordered 2 from TX on 3-29-17. Red and Blue.
Received MCO's and Bills of sale on 4-3-17. Took delivery 4-5-17 Got insurance 4-11-17 Title and plates no questions asked, Today. Now to methodically assemble the Red one for now. Mainly only time on weekends to pick away at one of them. Last pic is of when I took the front forks right out of the bike and drained them from the top. Around 8oz out of each. Replaced with Maxima 10w Fork Oil. Hopefully I'll get a lot more done this weekend. Going to attempt a front wheel balance on the bike while speedo and caliper is off and axle bolt just sitting in there. Have a some of the upgrades already as well. Carbs, jets, two different sets of sprockets for each, only one chain so far though. Probably just run the stock sprockets and chains for a while for break in and fine tuning. I'll try to keep you informed of the progress. |

First one together.
First one together. Air box mod, NGK plug, Mikuni carb with 30 pilot and 110 main, needle on center notch. Didn't even need the choke to start it and it was about in the mid 60's here. Took it for a longer spin last night and low and behold got it to hit 70 on the stock speedo and dare I say it seem like it had a little more in her. And that's with the stock sprockets and chain. I'm sure I wasn't actually doing 70 though and the odometer seems awful high also. Some day I'll get the digital clusters for them.

Nice. I sure can't wait for mine to show up.
Oh, and don't believe that stock speedo at all. Notoriously VERY inaccurate.

Second one waiting
Second one ready for assembly but I'm sure it will take longer since I'll be wanting to be out riding the first one.
