Looking for some advice on an ATV.
I am currently looking at a 1989 Honda Fourtrax Foreman 350 4x4. Anyone have an experience with these? I think I can get it cheap since it is not running.
Sounds like a fuel pump or ignition problem. It also looks bad. So far the bid is at non running China price.

I don't know about that specific model but a Honda is a Honda. It's likely worth fixing and probably will treat you good once re-done.
I like the smaller ATV's personally. Mine is just a 250cc 2WD Kawasaki and it's a lot of fun and it will take you pretty much anywhere. I'm fussing with a stuck enricher plunger with it right now though. I have it soaking in a little Kroil.

It looks rough, but the seller said they were riding and it just shut off.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/280932505059...84.m1423.l2649 I did some looking and it sounds like fuel pumps were a problem on these. Even with a tank of gas to get it I think I would be okay. My friend here has a rock quarry on his property. It would probably stay out at his place with Buford and Dufus.

If a guy had the time and the skills I don't see how he could lose money on that one.

I am planning to keep it. Looks like a deal to me as long as the bid doens't jump. About a 3 hour drive each way to get it.

Just made $56 off the fender. Looks like I got some ATV money.

I love how you do that. Someone got a great deal on that fender.

Just go another response from the seller on the atv. Says that it smoked right before it stopped running.
What do you think?

Before you decide to take the drive find out if the motor is still free, or locked. A top end is do-able but the lower end not likely to be economically feasable.

I bid to what I was comfortable with. The biggest thing for me was the drive to pick it up. Gas would have been more than the atv.

Looks like a new eBay member with zero activity won the quad. Bummer.

I am going to watch to see if it gets relisted. New bidder on a big item that has to be picked up alot of times means that they don't follow through.

My goodness! The winning bid was $100! 8O I'm sure the parts are worth more than that!

Yes, but I would have about 7 hours of driving and gas to pick it up. If they had more information on the engine I may have bid more.

I understand. Besides the time invested, the price of gasoline would add significantly to the cost. 8O
