Zongshen 200GY-2: 45,000 Milestone!
Today I went for one of my favorite rides to the Malad Valley. Along the way my Zong passed 45,000 miles on the odometer.
Entering the Malad Valley from the north, I paused to take a photograph in front of a favorite mountain. Shortly thereafter I left the pavement and climbed into the mountains westward, heading toward the Arbon Valley. Entering the Arbon Valley, I paused for another photograph before I hopped back onto the pavement. After riding a little south, I left the pavement and climbed into the hills to the west. Reaching a summit, I stopped to admire the view, and take a few photographs, before I continued my ride. Descending the summit, I rode the trails northward. Climbing eastward into the mountains, I paused to admire the view of the Arbon Valley. Descending the summit, I headed eastward, back toward the Malad Valley. On a previous ride I had encountered a grader, which was stuck in the mud. I rode a bit to see if the grader was still there; it was. The photograph above proves the Zong can travel where a grader cannot! Backtracking a short distance, I headed down an ATV trail through a narrow valley, and continued my descent. I took a photograph of my Zong as I exited the trail onto a fire road. Climbing once again, I headed for a favorite summit, which overlooks the entire length of the Malad Valley to the east. I rested at this spot, and ate my dinner, a Subway sandwich, while I admired the view eastward of the Malad Valley. The wildflowers are starting to bloom in Idaho! I paused to admire them before I continued my ride. I descended into the Malad Valley, and headed northward, back to home. Along the way my Zong reached 45,000 miles on the odometer. It was fitting that my Zong was on dirt, and in view of two favorite mountains I love to ride upon. I took one last photograph of a mountain to the west at “the twilight’s last gleaming,†and I continued my ride homeward. Reaching home just before nightfall, I rewarded the Zong with a change of engine oil. Spud

Fantastic ride report Spud! I absolutely love your mountains . Congrats on reaching 45K with the Zong, I'm guessing there aren't a lot of chinabikes that celebrate that milestone!

Amazing ride, country, and motorcycle.
I recall I had the privilege of being the Zong's pilot on those very same roads when it turned 42,000 miles. Roger and I want to be there SOON!

Thank you for posting beautiful pictures of Idaho. You definitely have nice mountains there.
Spud 45,000 miles that's 72,420 km just amazing. 8O Do you still change oil every 1000 miles? Send Zongshen in China link to this post, they might be interested.

Looks like another Trakmaster is just about done . Have you kept track of how many tires you've went through in 45000 miles? I hope my bikes will make it that far as well, that's a lot of smiles!
