I am a believer in gentle break in. I am glad to hear your tranny is working well.
I had a sticker on a Chinese ATV I bought that said. You will be killed if you don't read this carefully! I take threats very seriously so I read it completely! |

Well, after playing with the rear wheel alignment and chain adjustment for half an hour I got the thing through the Virginia DMV and State Inspection. I had to ride it with VERY low tire pressure. It didn't even register on the air gage. I stopped along the way @ 2 pay air compressors and nether one would fit my wheel. The guys @ the shop filled them up for me when I got there.
The bike runs/rides well but man is it geared low. You can go through all 5 gears under 25 mph. I kept trying to up-shift but I was all out of gears. :roll: There is no way I can follow the recommended break in around here without a traffic jam so I'm just trying to keep it under 40mph and drop down slower when I can. This thing has a STD chain so I guess I'll be pulling it off every 500-1000 miles for a bath and a oil soaking. Feels good after 25 years though. Got to go do some wiring before I take it out in the dark to test out the lights tonight. |

Sounds like a re-gear is in order. I bet you have a Lifanoid style 56 tooth rear sprocket.
Some people do, but it's not necessary to pull the chain anymore. Any good chain lube (I use Maxima Chain Wax) will work fine. The stock Chin chains don't last anyways. When it wears out upgrade to a Spud Chain (Tsubaki). Glad you made it through DMV. What's up with the air valve?

I got my flashing brake light module connected to the tail light and red eyed skull license plate bolts and took it out in the dark. Not too bad w/a halogen headlight but better than the old days incandescent bulbs. Being out in the countryside I came back plastered w/bugs. So much for my bug deflector. :wink: |

The front one is going to be tight . I bet you are over 4500 rpms at 45 mph, have you got a tach?. I made my own sprocket from one I got at a farm store. It was very difficult and I have a lathe and had to cut the thickness and increase the hole. You might be able to grind an air chuck so that you can get in there to ad air. You could make a new hole for the valve stem.
