That's impressive. What was your maintenance routine? Oil type and interval, and anything else you think played into the longevity please.
It would be really cool if you changed the chain and ran it to failure of something else, but I get not wanting to mess with it. |

No special maintenance, just oil changes every 1000 to 1500 miles and adjust valves. I'm not convinced that the brand of oil makes any real difference but I use Rotella non synthetic. I also cleaned the centrifugal filter a few times and replaced the clutch at about 50,000 miles when the splines wore enough to cause some noise.

I have a grand total of 487 on my Hawk right now. I'm in Alabama and my poor Hawk is stuck in Georgia. Oh, the humanity!! I'm taking it with me to Tampa next month, so I should get a bunch of miles clocked in down there. I'm also going to see how the carb does going from 1,100' feet to sea level with a 110 jet. I'm not even taking any extra jets with me my level of concern is so low. I'm just interested to see if I can notice a difference. Also, I'm averaging about 62mpg out of her.

What's even more impressive is that at 53,000 miles a second engine was installed, rather than junking the bike lol. |

mine says it has 8 miles but i know it is wrong, it should be around 30, the numbers will roll back while the bike is idling, has anyone else had this happen?

I had 500 miles on my Hawk but I changed out the cluster gauge yesterday so I'm back at zero lol. Get that new one installed old kid, you're gonna love it.
