"Lifanoid"?
Okay, when you guys use the term "lifanoid", are you referring to a specific Lifan or the myriad of Lifan clones? Inquiring minds want to know. Well, at least I do.

Lifan or more accurately American Lifan made claim a few years ago that their bike was the real deal and all others were inferior copies. In reality most bikes from China are put together with the same parts. The real problem arose when importers used Lifan's Certificates to get past DOT and emmisions requirements instead of doing their own work.
Most of the bikes that were refered to as "Lifanoid" have a model GY2 varient. |

Bikes that have a 163FML engine, that’s the engine used on the Lifan GY-5, since that was identified first all others bikes having that engine were relegated to being a version of it as Lifanoid.
Many of the manufacturers use that engine, some make them and some buy them from others. Loncin and Zongshen manufacture these and many others as well offer the 163FML engine they are based on Honda engine designs CB and CG versions OHC and OHV configurations. |

1. Zongshen 2. Qingqi (Qlink/Konker, et cetera) 3. Official American Lifan 4. Lifanoid (Unofficial American Lifan, but virtually the same motorcycles) Therefore, to answer your question directly, when I use the term "Lifanoid," I am referring to the "myriad of Lifan clones." Spud

I dont see them as "Lifan clones" they are most certainly "honda clones" engine wise. Just because Lifan shows up and starts saying that Lifans are real and others are copies just does not ring true with me. Lifan was trying to corner the market and I dont think it worked. JUST MY OPINION

OK, just to muddy the water, My Hibird is a GY2 with a Zongshen motor. Maybe it could be called a Zondanoid? Zongafloid? The Zongshen on my bike is very close in appearance to a Honda 185 engine of old.
I dont REALLY care what people call it. I call it "FUN" |

I call it fun too.
My ATV is a Honda clone (sorry, Hondoid ), and the engine is a Zongshen. That's why I felt justified in buying a Zong t-shirt.

That answered my question.
Soooo then, a very long ride on a Hondoid can result in hemorrhoids.
