sure it should go faster
got abit of an issue here guys. i cant seem to get any more than 46mph out of my bike . ive checked the valve clearances and the clutch doesnt seem to be slipping . next im gonna have a fiddle with the carb needle setting. anyone out there got any other sugjestions as to what might be the problem

Remind us what bike and what's the gearing.
A factory geared Lifanoid with a 56 rear sprocket will redline in top gear around the speed you are stating.

I get about 70 max if i push it outta my old 200gy-a with the smaller sprocket think i have a 42, your gonna have to get if you gonna ride on road consistently.

its a bashan gy125 mate the gearing is 15 tooth front and 56 rear so its 3.73-1 8O so i definately will have to change that

I'd go with something between a 45 and a 50 on back but since a 200 is only good for 55+/- I'd not expect much more than 50.

Yeah, I've been thinking about that today. I wonder what the drop-off point would be for a 125? IOW, how high could one gear the final drive on a 125 before it doesn't have the power to carry the gears? Is there a formula for that?
In the old days, I had a TS100 Suzuki that would scream at 125 km/h, but it was a two-smoke.

I'm with FastDoc and W&G, I wouldn't expect a normal 125 cc four-stroke engine to go much faster than 50 mph with the right conditions on flat terrain.

my gy-5 could go exactly 60 GPS, the speed read nearly 70

i have a cg125 out back and that has a 38 rear - 12 front sprocket (3.16-1)and would do about 60 so ill start with a 45 tooth sprocket and go from there

i had 17/46 btw i switched to 17/49 for a bit more low end
