Where Are All The New Shipments?????
I remember at the beggining of the summer when i bought my komoto 250 (amazing bike btw) everyone was promising bigger better bikes by the end of the summer. I see nothing new, Not even a new shipment of komotos. Are chinese bikes soon to be a thing of the past?!? :?

Between the big Quake, China's unsettled economy, and our (USA)current relations with them, we may never see $1000.00 shipped-to-your-door Chinabikes again. Glad I got mine when I did!

The market will move to more expensive 400s, if we ever see a new shipment again.

Are there any new bikes on the market? I'm needing to upgrade.

I talked to Ken Sakowski about this while ordering some parts from Coast to Coast Motorsports, in B.C.
He said they are bringing new 400s in, but also plan on selling the new Lifan 250s. How long it will take those bikes to arrive here, I don't know, but I guarantee they will be more expensive. |

Shawn at American Lifan figures they should have a 300 motard next spring, so long as things go well with the epa...

Considering Suzuki charges $6000 for a 400-class dual sport, I reckon a 400cc china bike ought be priced in the 3 to 4 grand range. I would buy one for this price if it is as reliable as my Hi Bird (4000 miles, with a couple hundred miles of interstate, wide open throttle; and it still runs strong).

The quality would need to be greatly improved for me to pay $4k for a chinese bike. I think that it can be done.
I don't need a high tech latest and greatest beast of a bike. A simple easy to work on dual sport with about 30hp and a 6speed transmission that had good suspension and plastic that doesn't crack when sneezed on. Allen

Yes that sounds good. I think the chinese can build a good reliable workhorse engine. Combine that with a solid frame, good electrical and decent suspension and price it about half of a similar sized Jap bike then maybe.
I would like to see a bike that just requires basic maintenance. Low tech, but reliable service. Allen

I would just like to see some more chinese bikes in general. Is it even possible to mail order a street legal bike anymore?

If they'd just send some to the states. :(
