Looking forward to picking up maintenance tips
Hello from coastal north Carolina, I am the proud owner of an XPRO Saipan GT1 168cc EFI scooter, just bought this spring, now that I have over 700 miles on it I ALMOST have all the bugs out. It cruises at 55mph easily, and will top out around 62+. My newest dilemma is oil blow back to the air box, so getting ready to dig into the EGR system.

Welcome aboard! You might look into installing a PCV in the crankcase vent line.

PCV valve
I was thought there was already a PCV valve in the valve cover where the hose connects? Is that just a fitting instead?

More than likely it's just a fitting.

Pretty much the same scooter as my Vitacci Clash, same engine anyway. I haven't noticed any oil in the air box except for what got in there during shipping, standing on it's end, or upside down. Not many miles on it as of yet.

Yes, I believe you're right, when you get your title document you will find out who really made it. Quinam Motors or something like that.

Clash 200 oil blow by
Quote:
If the oil level is too high it will blow by the crankcase vent on top of the valve cover. I've seen several wrong ways to check the oil. Here's the right way. Place on center stand and level. Unscrew oil dipstick and wipe off any oil. The just place dipstick in oil fill hole Do Not screw in. Remove it and oil needs to be between the marked area on dipstick. If oil is too high positive crankcase pressure will cause blow by. Could be crankcase vent hose is kinked or blocked also. Pull off the vent hose and start engine. You should feel a small pulse of air from the hose. |
