I am familiar with the whole fried wires thing...happened twice for me, suspect regulator in my case
replaced the fuse type and the main 12v live and ignition feed with twincore 15amp? auto cable in the loom. the direct 12v starter to solenoid was a bit on the iffy side of things too replaced with 12awg. You could contact the seller and say its not a true 250cc due to the whole 164/167 discrepancy and maybe get some compensation out of it. Selling something that isn't quite what the label says is a plausible claim. |

In my case I accidentally hooked my starter relay up wrong and when I put the negative wire on the battery terminal it sparked and smoked the green wire. So my plan now is just ignition and charging system from the stator side. Ditch the crappy left handed switch and just do a ignition switch and push button starter. I’ll run a Tusk Enduro lighting kit off the battery. I need to figure out what wire colors go to the CDI and Rectifier pins. Every diagram I look at seems different. There’s also another set of wires coming out of the motor below the stator. I’m assuming it’s for a neutral indicator and gear indicator which I don’t plan to use either. The reg/rec is pink/white, green/earth, red 12v and yellow in my case. its buried cant take a photo might it might be shown on my project thread somewhere.
For the most part the wiring follows Honda standard. here's some added pics. 200/250cc should run the same loom. |

Awesome. Thanks mate!! I saw a YouTube video where a guy was having similar issues as I was. The lighting circuit was getting 12v but the starter button wiring was dead. He connect a green/yellow wire and black wire together as he called a “jumper” and then everything worked and the starter button and switch was up and running.
I’ll take a peak back at your build thread too. Hoping I don’t need to de pin much! Thanks again for circle back with me. Also, received my PZ30 carb today. Fits perfectly and clears the exhaust with plenty of room! |

Whooop! Got sparky and turny. Now to fix the melted green wire, swap out the fuse setup and tuck this harness.

Well! I’m actually pretty much done already haha. Motor starts right up and runs great! Charging at 14-14.3V. Using a Anti Gravity AG-401 battery. 3D printed a new ignition switch holder and CNC cut a battery and starter relay box. Mounted the rectifier under the seat to get some cool air.
Re jetted the PZ30 carb. 115 main jet and a 45 pilot. Need to get a new pod filter. Spark plug is a nice tan color. Need to get the sprockets dialed in. Can only get to around 40mph currently with a 14/39t gearing. Need to change oil and get a proper spark plug too but man it rips! First gear power wheelies and lots of go. Wired in a bright led headlight and taillight as well! |

Did a big ride today. 30 miles…well ok not big but longest ride yet. My wife rode here Kawasaki Z125 big bored with a 150cc kit and she was hard to keep up with. I can get this build up to about 60mph tucked.
I’m still at a loss for what exactly my motor is. As mentioned it’s stamped 164FML but the cylinder says 250. I contacted the seller again but not expecting much…if it’s not a 250 I’m thinking of doing a big bore kit at some point. I suppose I could pull the head and piston and measure the bore but it’s running great so I’ll leave it for now. Need to do another oil change and possibly upgrade the ignition coil but all else is good! She rips and does first gear power wheelies ✌️ Last edited by Moto1204; 03-26-2022 at 02:45 AM. Should be a 200 cc...the larger 169 fmm its just 223cc... the only real 250cc chinese aircooled block its the 172fmm

It looks to have a CG250 engine case.
the 64mm nominal piston is unusual, the only way to be sure what cylinder and piston options you have is to remove your current jug and measure the wrist pin. if it's 15mm it's running a cg200 rod...if it's 16mm its a cg250 rod. So if you searching for a 'bigbore' you'll have to find kits that use the correct wrist pin. on the jug near the starter motor there should be a nominal CC rating cast into the cylinder. You'll also need check the cylinder skirt OD/case opening... |
