CSC TT250 Conversion to Supermoto

So I pretty much have my bike heading into the right direction now , thanks to everyone here.

My next step is to attempt to convert it to a supermoto bike.

Obviously I am looking at the wheels from CSC just because according to them they bold right up.

Is there any reason not to go with them ? I looked elsewhere just for fun trying to compare the size that they offered and the prices seem to be somewhat the same, unless there is somewhere anyone knows of that im not looking other then just typical google searches.

Lastly , I do mostly road riding for my commute so I been seeing good things about these 80/20 Shinko 705

120/70R17 58H TL for front tire and 140/80-17 69H TT for rear , not sure if that would be the correct sizes ?

Those are way too wide. I would think a 120 (maybe 130 if it'll fit) on the rear, and maybe a 100 or a 110 on the front. I'd look at CBR250 tires for sizes.

If you're going the sumo route, just keep the dirt wheels for the dirt, and street tires on the 17s, otherwise, you're just unnecessarily handicapping the bike for no reason.

17s are at a huge disadvantage with knobbies, plus you'll make it less stable off-road with the decrease in trail from the smaller front wheel.

Im not apposed to just going with just street tires on the 17 , just would like a little bite on gravel roads that alot of my family lives on so was looking at the 80 20 , which is basically a street tire to the naked eye with looks

I found this site where a guy had CSC put his supermoto together and in is invoice it shows his tire sizes and so maybe i can fit close to that size atleast according to the photo

csc sells a 140/70 and a 120/70 for those wheels so i would stick close to that.

I have a 705 on the front of my storm. I like it and will be putting one on the back soon as the stock one is wearing pretty fast.

I dont know what kind of discount you might can get from CSC but 650$ with no tires etc sure seems awful high, i have no idea what the interchangeability is but this link

shows both rims and no tires as well as rims with tires etc for a lot less or the same money ,if you click the link be sure to scroll all way to bottom to see all options- on the upside, i do like the color selection for the CSC 's.


Maybe a Brozz wheel set would fit a TT250 , if the Orion wheel wont, i know PeaceSports offers 17 " SuMo wheels as well., they are aluminum with gold anodize.

Warp 9 supermoto wheels can get close to 2k with color customization and tires. I think $650 plus $150-200 for Shinko 705s would be a pretty awesome deal. I'd just get the CSC wheels to avoid any issues with compatibility.

Plus those supermoto wheels they offer look sexy as f*** on the TT250...

I checked out the tire sizes that CSC uses. This is from their site:

"We recommend using the Dunlop Sportmax GPR-300 120/70ZR17 and Dunlop Sportmax GPR-300 140/70R17 with these SuperMoto wheels."

So, only your rear profile is off...they have 70 and you have 80.

Also, check out Dennis Kirk. They have good prices and selection.

As far as the rims from CSC. If I was doing this I would get them from CSC. You know they will work with no BS mods. I checked into having rims built locally using my hubs, thinking they would be less expensive, but was quoted $400 each. So, while expensive, I think that is the going rate.

Orion won't have anything you can use and would be no help in deciding or after a purchase. I like them, but customer service, while friendly, is not their best feature (certainly not like CSC).

Supermoto conversions are a waste of time. You can get street tires for the stock rims if you want. Wide 17's front and rear do not help handling.

Im not going to lie its for looks only , not really doing it for any other reasons then that, I like being able to go offroad too but for the summer its mostly just used for commuting etc..

there is on road advantages to 17" wheels. Is it worth the cost and effort, probably not.

Do it man. It's your bike and your money. I'd do it in a heartbeat if I had a TT250. Although I may be biased as I have the supermoto version of the XF250 and I love that thing.

I like supermoto's. Would love to see it on your TT. That said, the CSC wheels are pricey. I'd probably lace my own rims on the stock hubs.
